Empire State Building Run-Up

Congratulations to the winners of the 36th Annual Empire State Building Run-Up, Mark Bourne and Suzy Walsham from Australia! Bourne ran to the top in 10 minutes and 12 seconds and Suzy Walsham won the women's division in 12:05. This was Bourne's first win and Walsham's fourth, tying the record for most wins by a woman.
Approximately 700 athletes from around the globe raced up a total of 1,576 steps to the Empire State Building's world-famous 86th floor Observatory. For the third year in a row, the Run-Up was powered by the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) whose involvement helps raise money to fight multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer.
The Empire State Building Valentine's Day Weddings Event

The Empire State Building partnered with Preston Bailey, known for his custom designs for celebrities and high-society international events, to hold the "Love is in the Air" contest where three couples were chosen to receive dream weddings on Valentine's Day at the world's most romantic building. These three couples were chosen amongst many from around the country after submitting their personal love stories via the Empire State Building Facebook page. Preston transformed a space at the Empire State Building, tailoring each celebration to the changing seasons of the year. The Empire State Building Company would also like to congratulate Preston who married his partner, GRAMMY ® Nominated singer, Theo Bleckmann at the stroke of midnight on Valentine's Day.
