Skyscaper of the Millenium

Empire State Building Designated Skyscraper of the Millennium by ASCE

ESB PosterOn July 18th, 2001 ASCE presented the Empire State Building with a plaque designating it one of the top ten civil engineering monuments of the millennium.

The plaque was presented by ASCE President Robert Bein in a ceremony attended by representatives from ASCE national, the Met Section and the New Jersey Section. Many reporters attended the event and there were reports on over 14 television news programs and 4 radio stations. There were also articles in the Associated Press wire service and the Daily News.
