Lottery Registration for 2016 Empire State Building Run-Up Presented by Marmot Opens October 21, 2015
NEW YORK – October 13, 2015— Empire State Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE: ESRT) today announced that lottery registration for the 2016 Empire State Building Run-Up Presented by Marmot, set to take place on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, will open Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. ET and close on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Runners who have applied to climb the 1,576 steps and 86 floors of the World’s Most Famous Building will be notified of their race status via email on December 2, 2015. Of the thousands of runners from around the world who enter the lottery for an opportunity to race in the Empire State Building Run-Up Presented by Marmot, a select few will have the opportunity to participate. Race entry is $125 per applicant, and will only be charged once the applicant is notified of his or her selection as a participant.
Presenting sponsor Marmot will also be the official timekeeper of the race, providing the male and female first place winners of the elite heat with Marmot watches along with Marmot jackets.
For the second year, the Challenged Athletes Foundation® (CAF) will be the official charity partner of the ESBRU with a designated heat in the race. CAF is a world leader in helping people with physical challenges lead active, healthy lifestyles.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Team for Cures will also participate in the event which is produced by NYCRUNS, the largest running event management company in the New York Metropolitan Area.
