The Empire State Building Lights For Chinese Lunar New Year

The Empire State Building honored Chinese Lunar New Year from Friday, February 8 through Sunday, February 10, with a special lighting of red and gold sparkles to simulate traditional Chinese New Year fireworks. The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the biggest Chinese celebration of the year and celebrations traditionally continue for at least 15 days.

Beginning at sunset on Sunday, February 3, ESB's world-famous tower lights rotated in 49ers gold and red, and Ravens purple and white. For each touchdown scored, the lights sparkled in the scoring team's colors. The Super Bowl XLVII Champion Baltimore Ravens colors dazzled the New York City skyline until sunrise.
