The Empire State Building Shines Green to Honor City Harvest's "Share Lunch Fight Hunger" Campaign

On Monday, May 5, the Empire State Building’s world-famous tower lights lit up green in partnership with City Harvest to honor the 'Share Lunch Fight Hunger' campaign.

The Empire State Building hosted a lighting ceremony with City Harvest champions, actress Busy Philipps and TV personality Tayshia Adams, who flipped the famous light switch. City Harvest, New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, rescues high quality, nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it for free to New Yorkers experiencing hunger across the five boroughs. The annual 'Share Lunch Fight Hunger' campaign provides children and families with free, nutritious food during the summer months.

After the ceremony, Busy and Tayshia toured the Observatory Experience – which was recently named the #1 attraction in the World in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do, and #1 Attraction in the U.S. for the third consecutive year – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th Floor and 102nd Floor Observatories.
