The Empire State Building Shines Red to Honor Red Cross Giving Day

On Tuesday, March 24, the Empire State Building will shine its world-famous tower lights in red, in partnership with the American Red Cross, to honor Red Cross Giving Day.

The Empire State Building hosted a lighting ceremony with news anchor and reporter for Univision New York, Alejandro Condis, who flipped the famous light switch.

After the ceremony, Condis toured the Observatory Experience – which was named the #1 Top Attraction in New York City for the fourth consecutive year in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th and 102nd Floor Observatories.

Red Cross Month recognizes the volunteers, blood donors, and generous supporters who make the Red Cross's lifesaving mission possible. The month culminates with Giving Day, celebrated annually on March 25, with the goal to rally 30,000 donors to help ensure no one faces a disaster alone.
