ESB Shines Green to Celebrate Tom Felton's Return as Draco Malfoy

'

On Oct. 27, the Empire State Building shined its world-famous tower lights in the four Harry Potter house colors for ten minutes of the evening, and then switched to green, to celebrate Tom Felton’s Broadway debut and return to his role of Draco Malfoy in "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

That day, the Empire State Building hosted a lighting ceremony with actor Tom Felton, who flipped the famous light switch.

After the ceremony, Tom toured the Observatory Experience – which was named the #1 Top Attraction in New York City for the fourth consecutive year in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th and 102nd Floor Observatories.

Set 19 years after “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the stage installation follows the next generation of wizards on their journey at Hogwarts, and has become a favorite for theater fans worldwide.

On Nov. 11, Tom will step back into his iconic role as Draco Malfoy for the first time since “Deathly Hallows,” and will make his Broadway debut in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.”

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" is a proud supporter of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
