ESB Shines Green & Gold to Celebrate The Chapin School's 125th Anniversary
Emmy Award-winning journalist, Spectrum News NY1 reporter, and Chapin alum Ayana Harry flipped the switch at the lighting ceremony.

On Oct. 29, the Empire State Building lit its world-famous tower lights in green and gold to celebrate The Chapin School's 125th anniversary.
Earlier today, the Empire State Building hosted a special lighting ceremony with Emmy Award-winning journalist, Spectrum News NY1 reporter, and Chapin alum Ayana Harry, who flipped the famous light switch.
After the ceremony, Ayana toured the Observation Deck Experience – which was named the #1 Top Attraction in the United States in Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th Floor Observation Deck.
Founded in 1901, The Chapin School has been a cornerstone of education in New York City for generations, with a longstanding commitment to the academic and personal growth of girls and young women. For more than a century, Chapin has provided students from kindergarten through 12th grade with an education that encourages intellectual curiosity, confidence, and leadership, and prepares them to make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
