On Sept. 24, the Empire State Building will shine its world-famous tower lights in light blue to celebrate "Dateline" Season 35.
The Empire State Building hosted a special lighting ceremony with anchors and correspondents Lester Holt, Andrea Canning, Blayne Alexander, and Josh Mankiewicz who flipped the famous light switch.
After the ceremony, the group toured the Observation Deck Experience – which was named the #1 Top Attraction in the United States in Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th Floor Observation Deck.
Since its debut in 1992, “Dateline” has become a fixture of American television and the longest-running series in NBC primetime history.
Throughout its history, “Dateline” has brought compelling stories into homes across the country through in-depth reporting, thoughtful interviews, and the tireless work of journalists committed to their audience.
