On Oct. 22, the Empire State Building will shine its world-famous tower lights in light blue, magenta, and navy blue to honor Women Building Peace and the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund.
The Empire State Building hosted a special lighting ceremony with actress and UN WPHF Global advocate Kristen Bell, who flipped the famous light switch.
After the ceremony, Bell toured the Observation Deck Experience – which was named the #1 Top Attraction in the United States in Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th Floor Observation Deck.
For the past decade, the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund has championed the vital role of women in conflict prevention, humanitarian response, and peacebuilding.
Through its support of local women’s organizations and women human rights defenders in conflict-affected countries, W-P-H-F helps provide the resources and opportunities these leaders need to respond to crises, protect human rights, and strengthen their communities.
