Mariska Hargitay Lights Up ESB for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

DUN DUN.

On April 6, the Empire State Building’s world-famous tower lights shined teal and green to honor Sexual Assault Awareness Month and season 25 of “Law & Order: SVU,” in partnership with the Joyful Heart Foundation and NBC Entertainment.

Mariska Hargitay, founder of the Joyful Heart Foundation and star of “Law & Order: SVU,” visited the building the day before to flip the famous switch and tour the Observatory Experience, that was recently named the #1 attraction in the U.S. in Tripadvisor’s 2023 Travelers’ Choice “Best of the Best” for the second consecutive year. The star posed for photos throughout the building’s immersive museum before she took in the views on the iconic 86th Floor and 102nd Floor Observatories.

“I see this light that we shine today – this beautiful, stately, enduring, resilient buildng that I love so deeply – as a symbol of the attention that I want on these issues and on the survivors, who are the people behind these issues, “ Mariska said in remarks at the lighting ceremony.
