The cast of "KPOP DEMON HUNTERS" goes up, up, up at the Empire State Building.
On Aug. 22, the Empire State Building lit up in gold to kick off "KPOP DEMON HUNTERS" Golden Weekend, in partnership with Netflix and the Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE). At 9 pm, the building debuted a dynamic Music-to-Light Spectacular synched to the film's hit song, "Golden."
Earlier that day, the film's stars Arden Cho, May Hong, and singer REI AMI visited the Empire State Building to flip the switch in a lighting ceremony and take in New York City's best views from the iconic 86th and 102nd Floor Observatories.
"KPOP DEMON HUNTERS" follows global K-pop supergroup Huntr/x as they balance their public personas with their secret mission to protect humanity from demon forces. The film has been praised for its unique blend of Korean mythology, K-pop culture, and vibrant animation inspired by anime and concert visuals. 'KPOP DEMON HUNTERS" is the most-watched Netflix animated original film of all time, and Huntr/x made history as the first female K-pop artists to reach the number one spot on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart with their song "Golden."
