South Korean pop group, BTS, took over the Empire State Building in partnership with iHeartMedia to shine the tower lights purple. The lights celebrated the band’s iHeartRadio live concert at iHeartRadio Theatre. The group visited just a day before to be a part of a ceremonial lighting at the NYC landmark.
- BTS has a lot of meanings – the original one being “Bangtan Sonyeondan” which means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” in Korean. The acronym now also stands for “Beyond the Scene.”
