On Nov. 10, the Empire State Building lit its world-famous tower lights in white and red to celebrate Polish Independence Day in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York.
The Empire State Building hosted a lighting ceremony with professional Polish soccer player, Robert Lewandowski, who flipped the famous light switch.
Celebrated on Nov. 11, Polish Independence Day marks the restoration of Poland’s sovereignty in 1918 after 123 years of partitions. For the Polish community in the United States, it is a time to honor the enduring spirit, history, and cultural identity of the Polish nation. Polish Independence Day is not only a moment of remembrance, but also a celebration of resilience, unity, and national pride.
