LOVE IS IN THE AIR ATOP THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING ON CHINESE VALENTINE’S DAY
New York, NY (August 28, 2017) – Empire State Realty Trust (NYSE: ESRT) today announced its 2017 Chinese Valentine’s Day Wedding Contest. Expanding on last year’s tremendous response, the Empire State Building (ESB) is excited to launch this year’s contest on the Double Seventh Festival, providing one lucky couple a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their dream wedding at ESB on February 14, 2018.
Whether in Finding Mr. Right or Sleepless in Seattle, the Empire State Building has been the location of countless on-screen love stories, and this is a chance for one lucky couple to make their own. The iconic New York City views and romantic atmosphere make its 86th floor Observatory a dream wedding destination and the annual Valentine’s Day Weddings event is the only day of the year couples may officially wed atop the building.
The Weibo contest will run from Monday, August 28, 2017, 7:00 p.m. to Monday, September 25, 2017, 11:59 p.m. China Standard Time (CST). Engaged couples or couples interested in renewing their vows may enter for a chance to win a fantasy wedding by following the Empire State Building Weibo account and submitting a meaningful photo and a message describing their love story. The winning couple will receive a complimentary unforgettable experience, including a wedding ceremony at the Empire State Building, two (2) roundtrip tickets on Air China from Beijing to New York City and breakfast at STATE Grill and Bar. The pair will also have the opportunity for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid honeymoon at a Royalton Luxury Resort.
“Every year, ESB attracts an increasing number of overseas visitors, especially from China. As a well-known romantic landmark, our open-air Observatory is a dream location for any couple to exchange their vows. It is our honor to play such an important role in their special day,” said Jean-Yves Ghazi, Senior Vice President, Empire State Building Observatory.
The winning couple must be Chinese citizens and of legal age to marry in China. All couples must have a valid New York State marriage permit at the time of the wedding ceremony to participate.
